Red House Run Elementary School in Rosedale, Maryland underwent a major transformation with the demolition of its original 1960s-era brick building to make way for a new, state-of-the-art, energy-efficient facility. Designed to serve over 700 students—an increase from the previous 600—the new school was completed in December 2023. During construction, students temporarily relocated to the former Rosedale Elementary School on Old Philadelphia Road and returned to the new building after Winter Break in January 2024.
I was responsible for documenting the full construction journey through aerial photography, capturing the site’s progress from demolition to completion. My images provided a visual narrative of the project’s transformation, highlighting key milestones and showcasing the scale and impact of the development.
Engineering services were provided by James Posey Associates, Inc., and the architectural design was led by Murphy & Dittenhafer Architects.
With construction officially wrapped, the final stage of the transformation unfolded over Winter Break as the new Red House Run Elementary School came to life. Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) moved in brand-new furniture, equipment, and technology, filling the modern spaces with the tools and energy needed for 21st-century learning. On January 2nd, teachers walked into their new classrooms for the first time, greeted by bright, open spaces designed to inspire. Just a few days later, the building truly came alive as students returned, kicking off the new year in a beautiful, state-of-the-art school built to support their growth for years to come.
