Red House Run Elementary School Construction

PROJECT: NEW SCHOOL

The existing 1960’s era brick school building that housed 600 Red House Run Elementary School students, located in Rosedale Maryland, was demolished to make way for a brand new, much larger, state-of-the-art and energy efficient school building to house the 700+ members of the Wolf Pack! While demolition and construction was taking place, students learned from the old Rosedale Elementary School building on Old Philadelphia Road. Construction of the new building was completed in December 2023 and students returned from Winter Break in January to this beautiful new building!

Consulting work was done by James Posey Associates, Inc. – a consulting engineering firm located in Owings Mills, Maryland. The new building was designed by Murphy & Dittenhafer Architects – an architectural firm with offices in Baltimore, Maryland and York, Pennsylvania.

Groundbreaking, finally! After nearly a year of waiting, construction crews have setup shop on the Red House Run Elementary School location in Rosedale! A perimeter fence was constructed and a stormwater management pond has been dug/built.

It’s with boundless joy that I bring you the first exciting update on the construction of our future-forward Red House Run Elementary School. As the dust from the demolition settles, a new chapter unfolds before us—one filled with the promise of cutting-edge learning spaces, vibrant classrooms, and endless possibilities for our community’s youth.

TenThirty. One’s aerial construction documentation has begun! As always, we first capture extensive historic “before” shots to compare how the site has changed. We’ll be capturing routine footage during construction on key days to tell the story of the build. So check back here, or on the YouTube Playlist, for updates!

As Baltimore County taxpayers, and family of teachers (including at Red House Run), we’re excited to see this project come to fruition — and kids to be in a state-of-the-art learning environment — rather than overcrowded trailers!

The portable classrooms (aka “trailers”) have been disassembled and moved into the parking lot for removal. The area where the trailers were installed is being cleaned up. Click on the pictures to see a larger view!

It’s time for another thrilling update on the incredible transformation happening at our beloved Red House Run Elementary School. The winds of change are blowing, and the demolition phase is well underway, laying the foundation for a future that promises innovation, progress, and a brand-new chapter in the story of our community’s education.
